Overall market idea:
-
Playing on the suitcase idea
-
Travelling the world, maps
-
Airport
-
The amazing race
-
International
-
Party (balloons etc.)
International/ airport:
-
Domestic/ international
-
Travel posters
-
Different gates
NEW IDEA!
Passports:
-
When you come in you get a
passport. Whenever you go to a stall you get a stamp.
-
Something to take away at the
end (tangible)
-
Make stamps for each stall
-
Expensive?
-
This idea is interactive, and
the customers get something cool to take away.
-
Stamps could be made from
potatoes/ stickers/ sponge/erasers/foam stickers on a bottle cap
-
Very unique idea, nobody else
has anything similar
-
We would need ink pads or paint
-
Overall theme doesn’t have to
be travel related, the passports would tie in with the suitcases already.
-
We need approx. numbers of
visitors from last year to know how many passports to make
-
Supplies on hand to make up
more passports if we run out
-
Passports themselves don’t need
to be big, or even that many pages
-
Insta photo camera, take photos
of the people as they walk in, so that they can put the photo in the back of
the passport.
-
Getting a buddy group and
splitting up throughout the market to be at the different stalls and make sure
the stamps are being given out. Maybe people would be feeling a bit persecuted
because of this though.
-
Could dress up as flight
attendants.
-
Tell the people how to get
their stamps/ make them know what to do with the passport e.g go get stamps.
-
We could let the people to use
the passports as they wish- get stamps or don’t.
-
Giving more of a motive to get
the stamps. Competition/prizes.
-
Could have one special passport
with a special stamp. If you randomly get that passport you are the winner.
-
Definitely need to coordinate
with the events team with this idea.
-
Advertising/ generating hype
would be really good, lots of social media.
-
Could do it like a
game/scavenger hunt/ survivor/ amazing race. Might make people want to get the
stamps. Would have to tie in with a couple of stalls so that the participants
could actually do that stalls offering.
-
Cant be a timed competition
though because that will encourage people to just run in, get a stamp and leave
stalls, which would be rude to the other teams.
-
If you complete the challenge
your name could get put in a box and one winner pulled out? So that people can
go around the stalls with no time constraints.
-
Do people actually come and
stay at the market for ages?
-
Trying to take the interactive
art theme further.
-
Quite dependent on what the
other teams say. If the events team let us do it/ if other teams don’t mind
letting us tie in with their offerings and make them have stamps etc.
-
Paper for the Insta cameras is
super expensive. Pack of 10 sheets estimated $20.
-
Could link in with a photo
booth team taking the photos.
-
Still could have a pocket in
the back of the passport to put anything you collect up over the day.
-
“Aero-mess”
-
we could communicate with the
other teams about what heir logo is, what the want on a stamp and then make it
for them.
-
Could try to get a buddy team
to help us out with stamping.
-
The teams would have to
participate with us and actually have whoever was doing the administration
stamping the passports.
-
Prototyping- could do a mini
amazing race in town. And the passports and stamps will need to be prototyped
too.
-
Trying to get every stall
involved.
-
Could collaborate with friend’s
stalls for the special stalls where people have to do an activity for their
stamps.
-
We should have a stamp for our
stall, so that everyone gets at least one stamp.
-
This idea will force us to communicate
and collaborate with the other teams a lot to make it work.
-
Could have advertising for
other stalls inside the passports.
-
Outlines of certain stamps for
people to go and try to fill by finding the stall where that stamp is.
-
We can rotate as a team between
handing out the passports and going around the market.
-
Helping out any stalls that
were really busy by taking over the stamping for them.
-
What happens of another team/
the events team wants to do this instead of us?
-
Definitely need to ask the
events teams/ or tell them that this is what we are doing.
What are we going to do/ which ideas to
pick?
Recycled lights?
-
Would need a buddy group who
was doing a product
-
The other ideas we have are
stronger, might be quite a common idea
-
Making something with everyone
is a cool idea
Shadow art?
-
Projection of coloured lights
-
Big props with cutouts to
create shadows
-
Video projection
-
Props are a good idea, gives
something for people to do with their hands/ something to play with.
-
We can see the outcome of this
idea, might not be that much left to be developed.
-
Where can this idea go from
here? What else can we add to make it better?
Confessions booth/game?
-
Focusing more on the game angle
-
Linking in confessions is good
though
-
Truth or drink
-
This idea has lots of potential
to be developed, still not really clear what exactly we could do.
-
Do we want to do a board game?
What sort of game
-
Looking at the artist model
where you text a phone in a box and the texts will never, ever be read, so you
can confess to anything.
-
Will the confessions be stuck
up on a board? Post it notes/ coloured paper.
-
Game where you give a
confession and if you lose the confession goes up on the board.
-
Giant snakes and ladders.
-
Truth or dare
-
Need to be quick to do, not
trapping people
-
Last years one “hanging out
your dirty laundry”
Strongest two ideas are the confessions
booth/ game and the passports idea. They have the most potential to be further
developed into something really amazing.
From here we will do some pro and cons lists to figure out which i=one
is best.
Pros and Cons:
Confessions/ game:
Pros:
-
Interactive
-
People can confess or not if
they want to
-
Funny for the customer and
viewers
-
Weight off the contestants
shoulders
-
Confined to one location
-
Relatively cheap to do
-
Easy to run/ not too much prior
prep e.g. making stuff
Cons:
-
People might tease the other
contestants for their confessions
-
People may not want to
participate
-
Security (confessions being
read in a non anonymous way)
-
If we run out of supplies
-
May not fit in a suitcase
-
Need a really big area
-
We would have to ask permission
for a big wall space
-
People might be embarrassed to
put up a confession
-
People may not take it
seriously and be stupid about the things that they write.
Passports:
Pros:
-
Not confined to one place, it
goes throughout the market.
-
Unique
-
Ties in with suitcases/ relates
to our surroundings in the market
-
Encourages participation with
other teams
-
Something for the customers to
take away
-
Friendly competition
-
You’re not obliged to
participate in it.
-
It is free for the customer to
participate
Cons:
-
Might run out of passports and
supplies on the day
-
We could be overstepping our
boundaries with the events management/ design teams.
-
Cost could get high
-
We have to make and bring quite
a bit of stuff to the day
Work Before Monday at 12 pm:
-
Keep thinking about the passports
idea, try to figure out more pros and cons and develop it further.
