Week Four: Pitching Our Idea

We pitched the Passports Idea to the other participants in our class on Wednesday. These were the key points that were said to get our peers interested in the idea.

"Passports Idea"

• We will be at the entrance handing out the passports.
• People will go around getting stamps (which we will make and supply) from the stalls.
• Documenting the customers travels through the markets.
• The customers are not obliged to participate.
• It will be a fun and interactive way to get people to try out each stall.
• A passport is something tangible that they can take away, like a reminder of the day and what they have done.
• We will be keen for lots of collaboration with other stalls and the teams in the event stream.
• Can go either for amazing race or more informative itinerary type direction.
• We were thinking about wearing flight attendants uniforms to be more identifiable.
• Getting an instax camera to take pics of people at the door.
• Will need to consider: Supplies/ knowing approx numbers/ could overstep boundaries with the events teams/ strategies to do this idea cheaply.

We also pitched our Truth or shots idea too, where we let the mood board speak for itself.

Following this, we gained feedback from the class:

Today during our pitches, I took down some quick notes of the critique and feedback that we gained from our fellow classmates. First I took feedback from our buddy group:

Passport Idea:

-they liked the encouragement for people  to try out every stall that they can 

-you would have to keep the stamps unique yet simple

-You would have to moderate how much work the stalls would have to put it vs how much we would put in. 

-could it provide information about the market?

-you could make a whole itinerary pack, where it comes with an airline ticket, vouchers, stuff to bring, information pack all relating to the market

Truth or shot idea:

-wouldn't people want it on the wall if they were already interacting in the game?

-how will you guarantee people would be honest?

-people might purposely miss their shot so that they can put their confession up

-maybe incorporate a bigger idea behind it?

-liked the incorporation of the basketball

-maybe incorporate the basketball or confession idea into the passport somehow

Next I took feedback from a bigger group within our stream:

Passport Idea:

-could have stamps already in the passport that relate to certain stalls, so the passport user has to find the stall that matches the imprint (i.e a food related imprint, where the passport user has to go find that food stall within the market to obtain the stamp)

-where's wally?

Then the whole stream and events teams:

-Expense

-Could just buy  whole lot of mass cheap stamps, where they wouldn't have to be related to the stalls, the stalls could just pick the ones that they wanted. 

-Stickers for stamps, however stamps are more re-usable

-could create customs area at start

-there's heaps of materials left around the university that we could use as resources to make the passports, BE INVENTIVE!

-need to communicate to the events team who are already thinking of an idea similar, COLLABORATE  

From the feedback that we gained today, we came to the conclusion that the passport idea was the most popular, and will be the idea that we will continue to develop.
