Week Nine: Passport and boarding pass development

We wanted to trial testing our passport on a different paper type. We considered newsprint and the fact that newspapers are printed onto it because it holds ink well. We predicted that the passports would be too flimsy on the newsprint, but we tested it out anyway.

We folded up the newsprint passport and found that it looked glossier that usual. We didn't like the way that the passport background texture wasn't visible on the newsprint. And as expected, it was very flimsy. We think that if people were carrying it around the market with them, that it would probably get crumbled in their hands. Another bad point about the newsprint was that it didn't hold its folded shape very well (see bottom photo of curled up back page). After trailing this out, we decided to print onto normal print paper.
