Week Eight: In Class Discussion

In class this week we had an analysis of the risks/ dangers for our offering. We talked to the lecturers about how close to being signed off our project was. They were ranked from:

• Yes
• Yes (lollies)
• Part pending
• Pending
• Extra pending

Do you actually NEED to have lollies as a prize? This is an issue as there are so many teams doing lollies as prizes and we may actually not be allowed to have lollies at the market at all. Need to look into what else we can do, not relying on lollies of the experience.

Risks:

• Do you need two people running the stall?
• Are there any sort of risks with your idea?
• Any potential damage of property? We can bluebook the posters up.
• If there are a lot of unresolved risks we may have to re-think.

Lollies: We have decided on a new concept for giving the prizes so that we are not relying on lollies as the incentive for the experience.

If people show us the finished passport and put the tag into it the box with their name and number on it, they go into the big prize draw to win something big e.g.

• Portable Iphone charger
• Gordon Harris voucher
• Art Pack
• Printing money/ voucher

All to be at the value of approx $20. We could talk to Mawsa or Gordon Harris about possibly sponsoring the prizes too (need to ask if this is allowed in the market brief). 

After talking to the teachers we got the following feedback:

• Try out other kinds of paper for the passports- newsprint? thicker paper? different covers to paper?
• Encouraging people to do it in pairs? Saving on numbers of passport you have to print/ give out.
• Keep refining the look of the passport look e.g. the layout of it. "It still looks like a mockup"- Shannon.
• Gordon Harris might sponsor a prize pack (need to enquire)
• Masa pack or Tussock Coffee card?
